We have known each other for around twelve years in the area of internationalization, particularly in creating opportunities to gain intercultural experiences and insights through a stay abroad. It always proved to be a particular challenge to be able to convince one’s own institution that differently organized work processes and personnel policies among the international partners were not necessarily a qualitative disadvantage. The aim was to make the comparability understandable. That was Mr. Köppen`s special gift. He was able to listen well and then explain and convey things.
Mr. Köppen has made a great contribution to internationalization and education and impresses with his high level of comprehension, energy and reliable implementation of agreed steps. He has a good talent for personnel as well as for the training and further education of personnel, which he can always demonstrate in his work environment.
